Personnel Commission
On behalf of the Personnel Commission, welcome to the Classified Personnel Department of Desert Sands Unified School District. The mission of the Personnel Commission is to administer an effective and efficient merit system of employment for classified employees and to ensure that the district and its clientele are served by a quality of workforce that is committed to excellence in business operation and support services to further the educational programs.

The Personnel Commission and Classified Personnel Department work with the Board of Education to establish policies, practices, and procedures serving and affecting classified employees. The Governing Board and Personnel Commission are committed to equal opportunities for all individuals associated with the school district. The Classified Personnel Department routinely engages in activities such as recruitment, assessment, retention, training, evaluation, professional development, classification, and compensation; each aimed at a fundamental goal of attracting and retaining a qualified work force. Currently, there are approximately 1000 employees in the classified service of the Desert Sands Unified School District
