PAR/BTSA
The Par/BTSA program, which stands for Peer Assistance and Review/Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment, previously was the BTSA Program and also called the Mentor Program (which no longer exists in California).
The main duties of mentors, or Consulting Teachers as they are now called, is to assist new teachers with less than two years teaching experience in any way they can.
PAR/BTSA Cunsultants assist seasoned veterans who have received unsatisfactory evaluations from their principals and work with teachers who self refer themselves because they want to be better at their jobs.
