Desert Sands Unified School District Nutrition Services is a federally and state funded National School Lunch Program operated under the guidelines of the USDA. the Nutrition Service Department serves over 259,157 meals each month at 31 school sites + Head start and early Childhood Development Centers. We proudly offer breakfast, lunch and snack programs. We also offer a wide variety of nutritious snacks during testing periods.
Our department employs over 160 dedicated employees with all senior staff members certified in ServSafe.
Under the guidelines of the USDA, each menu is analyzed to ensure that our students are receiving the optimal nutrition available. We strive to please our customers by providing many entree choices, side dishes, juices and a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables all the while incorporating new products into the menu on a regular basis. Our priority is serving the students wholesome and nutritious meals with exceptional customer service. |
