Safety Committee Meetings shall be scheduled monthly during the school year.
Per the Bylaws the committee is staffed with four certificated, four classified and four management representatives (including the Risk Manager).
Risk Management schedules meetings, prepares agendas, manages the Safety Credit Program and provides Safety Training. The committee secretary prepares the meeting minutes.
Requests for Safety Credits require approval by the Risk Manager and/or the Safety Committee. Requests are submitted to Risk Management. A request form along with additional information should be provided by the requesting department/school site.
Safety Credits may be approved for “one time” purchases of equipment or materials that will benefit the district by helping to reduce the severity and/or frequency of employee work injuries or district claims. It will not be approved to replace existing equipment or items that are required by governing laws and regulations.
