District Notifications

Now you can choose your most convenient option: phone calls, email and/or text messages!  We utilize the SchoolMessenger system district-wide to deliver important information (i.e. student attendance alerts, school announcements, district notifications) to parents and guardians. SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy Pledge, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone.  Each method provides the option to opt out of non-emergency messages at any time.

Parents and Guardians:

Opt in for text messages! You now have the ability to determine how we reach you!

Text Messages: School & district announcements will be available via SMS text messages beginning September 15.  Look for an opt-in text to your mobile phone and reply with Y or Yes to begin receiving notifications.

InfoCenter: Manage your message preferences using InfoCenter—a free web and mobile app by SchoolMessenger.  Go to www.schoolmessenger.com/start or download App (available from Apple or Google) to create your account.  InfoCenter requires a current guardian email address on file.  In just minutes, you can decide which phone numbers or email you would like to have district communications sent to.

NEW! Beginning September 12th, you can update email addresses and phone numbers directly in Home Access Center.  Go to www.dsusd.us/HAC and click ‘HAC Overview’ for instructions on updating your phone & email address.

Q & A:

What is InfoCenter?  InfoCenter is a free website and mobile app that gives you access to school notifications of all types (text messages, voice, email) inside a single inbox.  You can also change your contact preferences and customize how you receive communications from your school or district.  InfoCenter is accessible from any internet-enabled device or computer.

What if I change my mind about phone calls?  You can opt out of non-emergency calls and text messages at any time.  All voice calls begin with instructions on how to use your phone keypad to stop receiving calls at that phone number.  For text messages, you can stop receiving them by texting "UNSUBSCRIBE" or "STOP" after receiving a text from us.

Can I be contacted in other ways, too?  Yes.  We can contact you, if you like, by email.  You can provide your current email address to us by logging into Home Access Center (www.dsusd.us/HAC) and updating your contact information.  Please allow for overnight processing time before changes in HAC can be seen in InfoCenter.

Who should I contact if I have more questions?  Please contact your child's school office if you need any more information.
