Welcome to the Desert Sands Special Education Parent Advisory Committee! We are a dedicated group of parents, educators, and community members committed to enhancing the educational experience for all students with disabilities in the Desert Sands Unified School District.
Our Mission: To foster a collaborative partnership between families, the school district, and the community to provide constructive input, support, and guidance on special education policies, programs, and services.
Our Vision: To ensure that all students with disabilities have access to high-quality, inclusive educational opportunities that allow them to reach their full academic, social, and emotional potential, creating a culture of understanding, acceptance, and empowerment throughout the district.
Our Goals:
1. Provide a supportive network and forum for families to share information, discuss matters of common concern, and build community.
2. Promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of students with disabilities within the school and the larger community.
3. Facilitate two-way communication to build trust and collaboration between families and school personnel.
