All Clear Update:

Following a detailed inspection the site was given a perfect score of 100 and an “A” rating.

The safety of the children in our care is the top priority for everyone on staff at Desert Sands Unified School District. This is true of every aspect of that care from education to transportation to the meals we serve.

On Wednesday, September 7, a student at Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle school opened a hamburger bun to find a discolored piece of beef. The student shared the photo of the burger with mom who then reached out to both the principal and the director of nutrition services.

A full investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the possible contamination and to determine if any contamination was present.
