Bears, Books & Big Smiles: Shadow Hills Athletes Inspire at Ford Elementary
On Friday, May 23, the 4th annual SHHS Champions Read event brought star power and storytime to Gerald R. Ford Elementary as student-athletes from Shadow Hills High School, led by Athletic Director Jody Davis, stepped off the field and into the classroom to share their love of reading.
This literary tradition isn’t just about storytime, it’s about role models in action. These Knights showed students that true champions lead both on the field and on the page, inspiring a new generation to dream big and read often.
Every Ford Elementary student went home with a brand-new book, while our youngest readers in TK and Kindergarten received cuddly stuffed bear reading buddies to join them on their literary adventures.
Thanks to the Desert Sands Educational Foundation and the generous support of the Assistance League Coachella Valley, these special companions helped plant seeds of imagination and joy that will grow with every turn of the page.
Reading has never been so cool!
