PDHS Hosts Local Kindergarteners

As part of Read Across America Week, Palm Desert High School once again turned the football field into something truly special, a celebration of literacy, connection, and the journey of learning.

On March 3, PDHS hosted its second annual “Meet at the 50,” a heartwarming event bringing together kindergarteners and high school seniors, for a powerful full-circle moment.

Reagan, Carter, Lincoln, and Washington Charter elementary schools arrived, ready for an unforgettable experience. Lined up on one side of the football field, they made their way toward midfield, the iconic 50-yard line, where a group of PDHS seniors were waiting to greet them. Once paired up, they sat side-by-side to share a special moment: reading together.

Each kindergartener received a brand-new book generously donated through the Riverside County Office of Education’s Read With Me Program, and proudly sported shirts that read “Future Graduate – Class of 2038.”
