DSUSD welcomed families of elementary-age students to a vibrant event on November 21, 2025, for a hands-on evening celebrating the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos. The District Education Center transformed into a lively space filled with creativity, cultural flavors, and community spirit.
Families had the opportunity to explore the meaning behind this cherished tradition while participating in colorful art activities designed to honor loved ones and celebrate memories through creativity. The atmosphere was warm, joyful, and filled with the unmistakable energy that comes from learning and creating together.
“Día de los Muertos is a beautiful celebration of love, memory, and culture,” says Oron Jackson, Coordinator of Diversity, Equity, Parent & Family Engagement. “We’re excited to bring families together to learn, create, and honor these traditions in a fun and interactive way.”
