New Broadcast Center Takes Center Stage!

Colonel Mitchell Paige Middle School recently took the spotlight as NBC Palm Springs stopped by to feature its brand-new Student Broadcast Center, DSUSD’s second professional studio, brought to life with helping hands from the Bianca Rae Foundation and Desert Sands Educational Foundation.

This innovative space gives students hands-on experience in broadcast journalism, storytelling, and digital media while building confidence, leadership, and real-world skills.

"This studio is more than a classroom, it’s a launchpad for student voice and creativity,” said Superintendent Dr. Kelly May-Vollmar.

Powered by passion, this project is a shining example of what’s possible when community and education come together.
