DSUSD Nutrition Services & La Quinta High School Host Largest Farmer’s Market for Students
La Quinta High School, in partnership with DSUSD Nutrition Services, hosted its biggest farmer’s market to date on April 10, 2025. This exciting event, funded by the California Department of Food and Agriculture, featured more than 12 local farmers and welcomed more than 1,600 students.
The farmer’s market provided a fantastic opportunity for students to connect directly with local farmers, discover the benefits of fresh produce, and take home items to share with their families. This hands-on experience promoted healthy living, supported community engagement, and enhanced the educational experience for all who attended. Nutrition Services Director, Daniel Cappello, was interviewed by local news and highlighted the importance of events like this and the positive impact they have on our students.
