Oliphant Rededication Ceremony

On November 6, 2025, Richard R. Oliphant Elementary School celebrated a special milestone with a rededication ceremony. When the school first opened in 2018, funding limitations meant the campus wasn’t fully built to its original vision. Thanks to the addition of a new classroom wing, funded through strategic use of developer fees, Oliphant is now fully complete, just as it was always imagined.

The ceremony also honored Mr. Oliphant for his long-standing service to the district. His leadership with the DSUSD School Building Corporation helped secure funding for countless construction projects over the years. With the campus now fully built, the district celebrated both this achievement and the dedication of the man whose name graces the school.

Led by DSUSD Board of Trustees and Superintendent Kelly May-Vollmar, Ed.D., the special evening was a joyful moment of reflection, gratitude, and community pride…a true celebration of vision realized and service honored. The rededication event was made even more meaningful by the presence of Mr. Richard Oliphant and his family, whose legacy continues to inspire our community.

A heartfelt thank you to our Desert Ridge Academy band for providing beautiful music and to Oliphant Elementary students who proudly led the Pledge of Allegiance.
