Amistad High School’s Scott McKee has received two major recognitions this year for his outstanding contributions to education. Most recently, he was named “Teacher of the Year” by VFW Post 3699 in Indio, an honor that celebrates his dedication to students, his community, and the teaching profession.
The VFW honor was made possible thanks to a nomination by Principal Richard Pimentel, and Mr. McKee was officially recognized during a special ceremony held on Wednesday, April 30, where members of VFW Post 3699 gathered to present the award and offer their appreciation.
Adding to his accolades, Mr. McKee was also selected as a History-Social Science Educator of Excellence for 2024–2025 by the Inland Empire Council for Social Studies (IECSS)—a prestigious recognition among regional educators.
Congratulations, Mr. McKee, on these well-deserved honors!
