On Saturday, February 28, this amazing DSUSD Women in Tech event transformed the DEC North Building into a vibrant hub of creativity, curiosity, and confidence for 4th–8th grade girls across the district.
Proudly wearing their sparkling tiaras, students selected six interactive sessions, creating a personalized tech adventure designed around their interests and passions.
Students explored the fast-paced strategy and teamwork of eSports, brought their ideas to life through 3D Printing, and programmed Ozobots to complete coding challenges. In Canva sessions, they designed eye-catching graphics, while LEGO engineering challenges encouraged problem-solving and big-picture thinking. Botball gave them the opportunity to dive into advanced robotics and the Drone Obstacle Course tested their precision flying skills, with a dose of friendly competition. Nature Eye blended technology with the natural world in creative ways, and Breakout EDU challenged students to crack codes and solve puzzles under pressure.
A special presentation from Aziz Farms guest speaker Nicole Tadros brought an interesting perspective of the many ways technology is utilized in the agricultural industry.

Most importantly, the day was about more than technology. It was about ensuring our young scholars see themselves in STEM spaces and recognize their future in innovation is limitless.
When tech met tiaras, the result was nothing short of brilliant.
