Alyssa Torres, a senior at La Quinta High School and a part of the Public Safety Academy, has received a great deal of well-deserved praise over the past several days. Alyssa did her elementary years of school at Saul Martinez Elementary School in Mecca and wanted to give back to a school that is home to a large number of students in financial need. She raised over $5,000 in school supplies.
