Special congratulations to two Palm Desert High School students. The pair have been identified as College Board National Recognition Program Scholars because they scored in the top 2.5% of the PSAT/NMSQT test-takers in 2019 and identify as Hispanic American students.

Britney Baez is the child of Mexican immigrants. She is an award winner as a participant in the Aztec Marching Band and Wind Ensemble. She is on the varsity track and field team. Britney plans on earning a Ph.D. in chemical engineering.

Gavin Muro is a varsity member for the Aztec soccer team. He is involved in many community service projects and plans on majoring in aerospace engineering and minoring in business.
