We are pleased to introduce Patricia Leon, Mental Health Therapist!
Mrs. Leon earned a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from California State University at Fullerton.
Prior to coming to Desert Sands, she worked for the County of Riverside as a Clinical Therapist for 10 years. The majority of her tenure with the county she was assigned to Indio Juvenile Hall, providing clinical services to youth as they go through the court and adjudication process. She has also served as the Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) coordinator at Juvenile Hall, ensuring that youth receive the appropriate level of mental health services to support their education.
Mrs. Leon is trained in several evidence-based treatment programs, including but not limited to trauma-based intervention. She and her husband, Nick, have two sons, the oldest attends Truman Elementary School. She enjoys camping, off-roading, and spending time with her family. She is very excited about this opportunity to be back in the community providing support for our students because as she states, “I know how important having the right people in our children's lives is.”

Next, we are pleased to introduce Lynn Purper, Project Manager!
Ms. Purper comes to Desert Sands from Mt. San Jacinto Community College where she served as the Dean of Capital Planning and Facilities. Prior to that she served as the Facilities Director for the Riverside Community College District. She has had success in setting up bond implementation plans and programming educational spaces.
During her free time, Ms. Purper works with the Riverside Sheriff Department’s Search Dog Team.
She is very excited for the opportunity to work for Desert Sands and we are very happy to have her!
