Toni and Jason

First, DSUSD is pleased to introduce Jason Fosselman, Assistant Principal, Indio Middle School.

Mr. Fosselman earned his Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, and his Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the California State University, San Bernardino.

He has proudly been a member of the Desert Sands community for over sixteen years, working with students and families since 2005 as a Teacher at John Adams Elementary, Benjamin Franklin Elementary, and Carrillo Ranch Elementary, as an Instructional Coach at Kennedy Elementary, and now as the Assistant Principal at Indio Middle School.

Mr. Fosselman is also a proud graduate of the Desert Sands Leadership Academy, Kennedy Elementary School’s 2022 Teacher of the Year, and an Eagle Scout.

Mr. Fosselman states that he has had the privilege to learn, teach, and grow from so many amazing students and teachers throughout his career.  The same holds true of the countless dedicated counselors, administrators, and additional support personnel he has had the honor to work beside. It is his former and current students and colleagues who continue to fuel his passion as an educator.

During football season, you will find him adorned in black and yellow, waving a Terrible Towel cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and participating in far too many fantasy football leagues. Mr. Fosselman says he has been blessed with a caring, loving, and supportive family which includes his amazing wife, Terra, his incredible daughters, Piper and Parker, and his wonderful mother, Beth, who are all here with him this evening.

We are excited to have Mr. Fosselman as part of the DSUSD leadership team!

Second, DSUSD is please to introduce Toni Frazer, Assistant Principal, Shadow Hills High School!

Ms. Frazer is a graduate of College of the Desert where she earned her Associate of Arts in Literature. She went on to attend CSU San Bernardino, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English Linguistics, her Multiple Subject credential, her Single Subject credential in English, and her Masters in Educational Administration. She is currently enrolled in a doctorate program through the University of La Verne, earning my Educational Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership. In between gaining these degrees, she also earned a certificate in Business Leadership through UCR and a certificate in Leadership through the Desert Sands Leadership Academy with the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE).

Ms. Frazer joined Shadow Hills High School in 2012 as an English teacher. Over the last decade, she has grown in her leadership role becoming a member of the Leadership team first as the AVID Coordinator and then as the Instructional Coach. During her time at Shadow Hills, she has overseen schoolwide AVID Professional Development, the systemization of their WASC and TRAC goals, as well as supporting the development of the school’s WICOR Walkthroughs and Pineapple Pop-Ins.

Ms. Frazer and her son have a Bucket List plan that includes items like climbing pyramids in the different continents (they’ve already marked off 2 out of 7), snorkeling in both hemispheres (they’ve reached both!), ziplining in every country/state we visit (3 different countries and 22 states so far), as well as visiting places famous for portals to Atlantis, having djinn (Genies), having the Sidhe (Elves), etcetera and looking for them or evidence thereof!

Ms. Frazer states that she loves continuing her education and learning as it supports her in becoming a stronger teammate.

Welcome to your new position as assistant principal Ms. Frazer!
