Paintings, works on paper, sculpture, fashion, graphic arts, and more are on display at the Reconnecting: Listen, Learn, Grow Together - Students Speak Through the Arts Exhibition featuring the students of Desert Sands Unified School District.
The exhibition opening was held on Tuesday, April 4 at the District Education Center. The exhibition will run through the early months of the 2023-2024 school year and be displayed throughout the building and the adjacent (North) building.
The first district-wide art exhibition was held last school year and both exhibitions have been funded by our generous sponsors including members of the Artists Council, the La Quinta Arts Foundation, and the Desert Sands Educational Foundation.
A new feature this year: live theatre and dance performances as well as student performed music during the opening reception was a delightful addition. Refreshments were served including sweet creations by culinary arts students from Palm Desert Charter Middle and La Quinta High schools. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
