Ana M. Conover

ANA M. CONOVER - President

Trustee Area 5

Ana M. Conover is currently an elementary school teacher. She has been teaching since January of 2000. She started her educational journey in the Desert Sands Unified School District at Jefferson Middle School. She graduated from Indio High School in 1985. After graduation, she proudly served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1989. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland and received her Master of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Elementary Education from Chapman University in 2001. Ms. Conover has taught K-6 classes, Adult ESL and Citizenship classes. 

First elected in November 2018. Current term expires in December 2022.

Wendy Jonathan

WENDY JONATHAN - Vice President/Clerk

Wendy Jonathan is a former school teacher with twenty-five years of experience as an elementary school teacher; her last eleven with the Desert Sands Unified School District. She retired in June 2012 from Ronald Reagan Elementary School. Mrs. Jonathan has her GATE credential as well as her International Baccalaureate credential. While teaching she served as the GATE Coordinator, Odyssey of the Mind Coach, Science Fair Coordinator, and Math Field Coordinator. She continues to volunteer her time as a judge at the district science fair and as an Ophelia Mentor at PDHS. In 2017, California School Boards Association appointed Wendy to serve as the Director for Imperial and Riverside County. Mrs. Jonathan attended the University of Southern California, where she met and married her husband, Sabby Jonathan. Together, they raised their two sons, both of whom received their education through DSUSD. Wendy is an active member in the community where she involved with number of organizations including the Palm Desert Rotary, Indio Women's Club, California Women Lead, Alumni Council for Leadership Coachella Valley, Family YMCA of the Desert, and Women Leaders Forum of the Coachella Valley. She also serves as a representative for the Riverside County Committee on School District Organization, member of the Oversight Board of the Successor Agency to the Palm Desert Redevelopment Agency, the Executive Committee for the Advancement Board for Cal State San Bernardino, Palm Desert Campus, and Board of Directors for Palm Desert Chamber of Commerce.

First elected in November 2012. Current term expires in December 2024.

Tricia Pearce
TRICIA PEARCE - Board Member

Tricia Pearce is a retired elementary school teacher from Desert Sands Unified School District. She taught in DSUSD for 25 years at Van Buren, Jackson, Adams, and most recently at Earhart Elementary. Prior to that, she taught 5 years in Redlands Unified School District and Oakdale Joint Unified School District. She was the DSUSD Elementary Math Field Day District Coordinator for the past 10 years, and helped to organize the event for 20 elementary schools and 800 students. She served on school site councils, District Math Leadership, TRAC teams and leadership teams during her teaching time here in DSUSD. Before teaching, she was an administrative assistant for 10 years for a large almond farming family, Naraghi Farms, in central California, and then a medical staff secretary for Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock, California. She moved to the desert in 1990 with her two sons, where they attended DSUSD schools. Tricia was active as a cub master for the La Quinta Cub Scout Pack, and later helped when her sons were in Boy Scouts. Currently, she is raising her 15 year old grandson. Tricia earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology from California State College Stanislaus in Turlock, California. Later, she received her multiple subjects teaching credential from Chapman University, and began teaching in 1990. In 2016, Tricia earned her Masters in Technology in Education from Grand Canyon University. She also has a GATE certificate and a Mathematics Supplemental Certificate from Riverside County.

First elected in November 2020. Current term expires in December 2024.
