High school graduation is a significant educational milestone in a student's life. It marks the culmination of years of hard work, personal growth, dedication, and academic achievement. Graduation is a time of celebration, reflection, and anticipation for the exciting possibilities that lie ahead for the graduates. Graduation ceremonies acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of a graduating class and individual graduates completing all of the requirements of a high school diploma.

Below are a few ways in which graduates are recognized at graduation:

Latin System of Academic Recognition
Summa Cum Laude (GPA 4.0 and above)
Magna Cum Laude (GPA 3.75 - 3.99) 
Cum Laude (GPA 3.5 - 3.74)

Please note: Caps, gowns, and tassels are provided to all graduates by Desert Sands Unified School District.


The high school transcript is an official academic record that provides a detailed overview of the courses and grades earned by a student throughout high school. Copies of a student transcript can be attained at a school site or electronically.


Current and former students may request five free official transcripts from the registrar. A service fee of $2.00 for each additional transcript prepared by the registrar will apply. Transcripts prepared by the registrar will be mailed via the U.S. postal service to the colleges, universities, or scholarships of your choice. Photo identification (and other supporting documents) may be required for transcripts made in person.

Transcripts prepared by the registrar may not be tracked and the school cannot accept responsibility for documents sent by the U.S. Postal Service.



The link above provides you with the ability to conveniently request transcripts online. Transcripts sent electronically are securely delivered to the colleges, universities, or scholarships of your choice for a service fee. In addition, can send transcripts via the U.S. postal service for a service fee.
