Congratulations to Palm Desert High School’s Katie Xin for being named the Riverside County Office of Education’s Teen Poet Laureate. Katie and four other DSUSD finalists were honored at a reception and reading on November 5, 2021 in Riverside. A total of 318 poems were submitted by 74 different students from across Riverside County. The work from the top 26 finalists were published in a chapbook, and Katie was named the inaugural Riverside County Teen Poet Laureate.

Katie also read a poem out loud at the November 16, 2021 board meeting.
