A new club was started at Indio High School by Counselors Carlos Gomez and Yolanda DeLoera, Ed.D. along with student leaders.

The focus for the Migrant Leadership Club is to build professional capacity for students, their self esteem, and college and career readiness.

Ten students participated in the inaugural group, four of whom were seniors graduating in 2023. A special medallion was designed by the students and counselors together to represent the Migrant Leadership Club.

The following graduates were recognized at the June 6 board meeting:

Ramon Aguilar - will attend California State Polytechnic University, Pomona

Belinda Casteneda - will attend Stanford University

Monserrat Cuadros Guzman - will attend California State University San Bernardino

Perla Zepeda Ceja - will attend University of California Irvine
